Volunteer Docent at the B&O Railroad Museum

Want a fun and novel place to volunteer? Do you love history, railroading, and think sharing stories of the technological changes and social impact of Railroading in America with museum visitors sounds fun? Volunteer at the B&O Railroad Museum, the birthplace of The American Railroad!

The B&O Railroad Museum is currently recruiting volunteers interested in becoming docents for all exhibits on the museum floor. Docents provide all information to museum patrons on exhibits, directions, programming, and special events. Docents are trained in the history and galleries we provide during their orientation. We can accommodate with any availability to work the information desk.

Volunteers receive a FREE Friends and Family membership level, which provides:

-Free Admission for you, and up to four other adults and children

-Free Admission on our 1 Mile Express Train Rides on coach, and discounted tickets for First Class Observation Car access.

-10% off in the gift shop and in our Cafe onsite.
