Video Editor Volunteer (Short Form and Long Form)- for Animal Welfare

FLATBUSH CATS MISSION:

Flatbush Cats, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is on a mission to end the cat overpopulation crisis in Brooklyn and beyond by providing the resources and support that our rescue/TNR (trap- neuter- return) volunteers and community members need to give cats a better life. We have also just launched an exciting and game-changing campaign to build a spay/neuter clinic in Brooklyn. This clinic will provide affordable and accessible vet care to pet owners and rescuers, saving thousands of lives for years to come. 

 We are seeking Video Editor (Short Form and Long Form) Volunteers (can be one or two) to join our communications team during this time of significant growth. This is an exciting opportunity to use your creative skills and play a critical role in supporting animal welfare and our mission!

VIDEO EDITOR SHORT AND LONG FORM VOLUNTEER ROLE DESCRIPTION

This remote volunteer role is approximately 6 - 8 hours per week on average.

Responsibilities:

Technically and creatively craft video media for publishing on social platforms. Short Form is for  Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok. Long Form is for YouTube.

• Edit projects per our communications pipeline based on the vision and guidance of the Communications Director.
•  Collaborate with Content Team Leads on how best to streamline organization of media
• Keep projects organized and archived.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE NEEDED:  

• Must have experience writing, editing, and producing stories and other content across various media and channels.
• Must be able to develop and produce stories or content via video, photo, audio, and/or text.
• Strong writing and editing skills with demonstrated ability to write clearly and concisely.
• Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.
• Proven ability to work in a deadline-driven, collaborative environment.
• Must be self-motivated, driven and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Deep knowledge of video editing, graphic design, and web design tools and software required. Familiarity with social media platforms and standards.
• Ability to work with Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, Airtable, and Slack.
