Lenox Hill Neighborhood House is a 130-year-old settlement house widely recognized as one of New York's premier human services providers. Founded in 1894 as a free kindergarten for immigrant children, the Neighborhood House now serves 16,000 people in need each year through a wide array of effective and integrated services--social, educational legal, health, housing, mental health, nutritional and fitness.
We are seeking volunteers to teach a Beginner Level English as a Second Language class for adults. Our English as a Second Language program provides high quality, interactive instruction to a diverse student body. We seek to increase students' language skills, confidence in speaking and comprehension of English.
Volunteers are needed to teach two classes per week, Tuesday and Thursday, 9:30-12:00 or 1:30-3:30, September 10 - November 14. Classes meet at 331 East 70th Street in Manhattan.
