Support refugees and immigrants as an online adult ESL teaching assistant with ACC-VA, the African Community Center of Virginia! ACC-VA helps newcomers rebuild their lives in Northern Virginia as a local branch of the Ethiopian Community Development Council (ECDC), a national refugee resettlement agency.
We offer Literacy, Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced ESL classes and are looking for volunteers that are excited to help students navigate their new communities. Our clients rely on our free English classes to start new lives and gain confidence in the US; volunteers like you play a crucial role in helping us provide this support!
No experience? No problem- all volunteers receive detailed teaching resources and guides; Teaching Assistants are paired with more experienced Lead Instructors.
