About the Volunteer Opportunity

City Voices is seeking to start a peer-run support group for social workers and social work students who live with serious mental health challenges. We are looking for dedicated volunteers to help facilitate these groups and provide a safe, supportive environment for participants.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate an online support group for 90 minutes twice per month
• Help participants feel safe and welcome
• Listen nonjudgmentally and with empathy and care
• Offer advice when requested
• Encourage dialogue
• Invite guest speakers

Requirements

• Social work degree or currently pursuing a social work degree
• Group facilitation experience is a plus
• Sociable, easy to speak to, good listener, and thoughtful communicator
