    A Grant Writer at WICC works with the Fundraising & Finance Director, Executive Director, Program Coordinator, and Project Leads to reach organizational goals for operational grant funding and project funding from grants. They monitor the ongoing grant searching, writing, submission, and reporting process. In addition to utilizing past writing and tools at WICC’s disposal, they will also be integral in offering recommendations to improve WICC for receiving more grant funding. While the Grant Writer will focus on searching for and leading the submission process of operational grants, they will also spend time offering support to Project Leads in their program development grants. The Grant Writer reports to the Fundraising & Finance Director. This position is currently unpaid.

    Time Commitment:

    • ~5 hours per week total, estimated
    • 1-2 weekly meetings
    • Two quarters, unless otherwise negotiated or extended

    Duties:

    • Prospect research for grants applicable to WICC operations and projects.
    • Develop templates and near-automated processes for submitting letters of interests, acceptance/rejection responses, grant reports, and other integral communication.
    • Manage and monitor grant due dates, writing process, reports, etc.
    • Communicate with the Fundraising & Finance Director and Project Leads to ensure that all projects have adequate grant writing support.
    • Collaborate with other WICC teams (Projects, Marketing & Communications, etc.) to determine grant needs and related information including project wording, budget needs, and types of grants to look for.
    • Offer grant readiness and writing recommendations to Executive Director

    Preferred Skills:

    • Prior grant experience from work, applicable classes, and/or internships
    • Time management and professional communication for remote work.
    • Certificate in Grant Writing (24 points toward Grant Profession Certified / 24 points toward CFRE: Certified Fundraising Executive)
