We create safe online inclusive spaces where individuals are able to thrive. Our current programs, including Gamers for Wellness & Peer Support, provide mental health resources through innovative and interactive platforms such as online gaming, virtual events, and 1 on 1 support on Discord.

Role Overview:

MWA is seeking dedicated and compassionate Minecraft Server Admins & Moderators to help maintain a safe, fun, and supportive environment for our Gamers for Wellness Program.

As a Server Admin/Mod, you will ensure a positive player experience, enforce community guidelines, assist with events, and contribute to a mental health-friendly gaming space. This is a volunteer role ideal for those who enjoy gaming, community building, and mental health advocacy.

Commitment: 5–30 hours per week (flexible, remote)

Compensation: Volunteer-based

Key Responsibilities:

✔ Server Management:

• Monitor in-game chat and behavior to ensure a respectful, inclusive environment.
• Enforce server rules and address conflicts with fairness and empathy.
• Assist with server maintenance, plugins, and troubleshooting (basic knowledge preferred).

✔ Community Engagement:

• Answer Discord tickets and welcome new players and foster a positive atmosphere.
• Help organize and run in-game events (e.g., building contests, wellness workshops).
• Engage with players in Discord and in-game to promote mental health awareness.

✔ Safety & Support:

• Identify and report harassment, bullying, or harmful behavior.
• Escalate serious concerns to leadership.
• Encourage kindness and peer support among players.

✔ Collaboration:

• Work with the MWA team to improve server features and player experience.
• Provide feedback on community needs and potential improvements.

Qualifications:

✅ Experience with playing Minecraft.

✅ Strong understanding of Minecraft gameplay, commands, and basic server management (familiarity with plugins like LuckPerms, Essentials, or WorldEdit is a plus).

✅ Passion for mental health advocacy, peer support, or inclusive gaming communities.

✅ Ability to remain calm, fair, and professional when handling conflicts.

✅ Reliable, communicative, and able to work in a team-oriented volunteer environment.

✅ Familiarity with Discord moderation is a bonus.
