Guardian Partners was started with the goal of providing oversight to ensure that adults, who are under the legal protection of a guardian, are being treated with the utmost dignity and respect. In Oregon, Guardians are appointed by the Court to make decisions on behalf of those who are unable to make decisions for themselves.
--------------------------------------------------------
Case Monitors are at the heart of our mission to keep vulnerable Oregonians safe and thriving. In collaboration with county Probate Courts, Case Monitors are appointed to provide thorough, limited reviews of existing adult guardianship cases. Monitors will visit with the person under guardianship, will interview others involved in their care, and will assess that needs, wishes, and concerns are met.
The purpose of a Case Monitor’s role is to identify ways we might be able to provide additional support, education, and resources to Guardians and/or the adult under guardianship. Consistently, Case Monitors provide resources, often several, in over 80% of cases examined. Monitors may also provide a method of alerting the Court when there is suspicion or evidence of possible abuse, neglect, or exploitation of a Protected Adult. Monitors draft their findings in a report to be submitted to the county Probate Court.
Volunteers needed in the counites of: BENTON, CLATSOP, HOOD RIVER, JACKSON, JOSEPHINE, LINCOLN, MORROW, TILLAMOOK, UMATILLA, WASCO and YAMHILL
