The Midwifery Program by Young Surgeons Travel provides hands-on experience in maternity wards, hospitals, and community health clinics across Kenya. Volunteers work alongside midwives and healthcare professionals, assisting with prenatal care, childbirth support, postnatal care, and newborn health education. The program offers exposure to maternal health challenges, emergency obstetric care, and traditional birthing practices in resource-limited settings. Participants also engage in community outreach, educating expectant mothers on nutrition, hygiene, and newborn care. Running from 2 weeks to 6 months, the program includes accommodation, meals, and 24/7 support, ideal for midwifery students and professionals.
