Volunteer Opportunity: Fundraising and Grant Proposal Specialist

Obu Lamu is a grassroots initiative dedicated to empowering vulnerable children, families, and communities through education, art, and holistic support. We are passionate about creating sustainable change and require additional support to expand our reach and impact.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fundraising and Grant Proposal Specialist to join our team as a volunteer. This role is vital in helping us secure funding, build strategic partnerships, and implement impactful campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

• Fundraising Campaigns: Develop and execute creative fundraising campaigns to raise awareness and attract donors.
• Grant Proposal Writing: Research, draft, and submit grant proposals to potential funders.
• Investor Outreach: Identify and connect with potential investors, presenting compelling narratives about Obulamu’s mission and impact.
• Networking: Build relationships with like-minded organizations, individuals, and businesses to foster collaboration.
• Content Creation: Assist in developing promotional materials, including social media posts and donor communications.
• Reporting: Track and report fundraising progress, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Qualifications

• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Experience in fundraising, grant writing, or nonprofit development is a plus.
• Proficient in research and strategic planning.
• Passion for social impact, education, and community empowerment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a remote team.
• Creative thinker with a proactive attitude.
