Third Annual Federal Way PRIDE event at Wayside UCC Church campus (2000 SW Dash Point Road, 98023) can use help on Saturday August 3 from 9AM to 5PM with the following duties:
- directing vendor traffic
- helping set up 10'x10' pop up tents
- moving tables and chairs
- providing precooked hot dog (with proper glove procedures - food handler card preferred)
- providing cold drinks for donation
- garbage can setup and emptying throughout the day
- parking direction for ADA spaces and regular crowd traffic
- direction to first aid or event staff for questions
- assistance with drag show participants
- general assistance to staff, vendors, attendees and guests
- assistance with takedown and final garbage collection to restore space to original condition.
Volunteers will be Identified with rainbow embroidered aprons or safety vests. contact federalwaypride@gmail.com with questions or to volunteer for any shift during the day.
"No matter who you are or where you are on Life's journey; you are welcome here," is both Wayside's and PRIDE's motto. We are graciously hosted for this event on the Wayside campus, but it is NOT a religious based observance of PRIDE.

From I-5 take the S 320th Street exit through downtown Federal Way. Proceed west on S 320th to 21st Avenue SW. Turn right and proceed to the intersection of 21st Avenue SW and SW Dash Point Road. Wayside sits back from the street at the stop light at the intersection with Lakota Middle School across the street. It would be best for volunteers to park at Lakota and walk to Wayside if possible or drop volunteers at Wayside then go park at Lakota MS.

Send name and preferred pronouns, contact for day of event (# for text or email), hours you intend to be available on 8/3 to help, any needed considerations for limitations or restricted abilities. You will receive a confirmation on or before 8/1. No alcohol, smoking materials, weapons, firearms or fireworks are permitted on church campus. Cell phone use should be kept to a minimum.
Bring fluids, sunscreen, protective clothing (hat, closed toed shoes, sun protection, etc.) If you have community service paperwork to be completed, please submit a copy by email by 8/1.
