About VIBE
VIBE (Venice Institute of Boundless Expression) is a 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to providing free, immersive, and culturally diverse artistic experiences for Los Angeles youth. Our mission is to break down barriers to the arts, foster creative expression, and build an inclusive community where young people can explore, learn, and grow through the arts.
We are seeking a Resident Artist to collaborate on workshops, exhibitions, mentorship programs, and live art experiences that engage young artists and inspire creativity.
Role Overview
The Resident Artist will serve as a creative leader and mentor, guiding youth through hands-on artistic experiences while contributing to VIBE’s mission of making the arts accessible. The ideal candidate is a passionate and skilled artist who is excited to engage with youth and the community through interactive projects, workshops, and exhibitions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead hands-on workshops in various artistic mediums.
- Create interactive and immersive art experiences for youth participants.
- Provide mentorship to young artists, offering guidance and feedback on their creative work.
- Collaborate with other artists, educators, and community partners on special projects.
- Participate in VIBE events, exhibitions, and community outreach initiatives.
- Assist in developing educational materials and artist-led programs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a visual artist, muralist, street artist, or multidisciplinary creative.
- Passion for mentorship, arts education, and community engagement.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience working with youth or community-based projects is a plus.
- Ability to adapt workshops and projects to different skill levels and backgrounds.
