    Descrição

Juani is a fiscally sponsored project of 501(c)(3) non-profit Empowerment WORKS Inc. and a community-based organization (CBO) in Siaya County, Kenya. Our project was created to address the unmet healthcare needs of women and girls in Sega, Kenya, and our mission is to improve the lives of women and girls through healthcare, education, and empowerment.

As part of our mission, we have launched the podcast, Sunlit Conversations: Spotlighting Women's Health. Just as our project strives to bring knowledge, hope, and empowerment to the women of Sega, this podcast features conversations that shed light on various women’s health topics, including gender-based violence, menstrual health, and other issues of concern affecting women and girls. We anticipate releasing one episode per month, resulting in a time commitment of approximately 10-15 hours/month. With every episode, we hope to share knowledge and perspectives that mobilize and inspire changemakers from all communities.

    Responsibilities

    • Reaching out to potential podcast guests
    • Preparing for the interview by reading background material, researching the topic, and formulating interviewee questions
    • Interviewing our guests while maintaining professionalism and cultural competence
    • Editing the podcast and finalizing our episodes for release, which include uploading the episodes to www.RSS.com and creating each episode's artwork
    • Promoting our podcast on social media and within your community

    Qualifications

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Experience with editing audio recordings and creating graphics using Canva or similar tools
    • Interest or background in women's health
    • Ability to engage with our guests in a manner that encourages them to speak freely/sensitivity when discussing various women's health topics, some of which may be controversial
    • Ability to work well in teams, as there is a possibility of having a co-host
