    Descrição

Board Member, Immigrant Legal Aid Organization

    Are you:

    • Passionate about helping immigrants receive visas?
    • Eager to share your skills and experience with a new organization?
    • Interested in gratifying Board work?

If so, please consider joining our Board!

New England Justice for Our Neighbors (New England JFON) is a 13-year-old immigration legal services organization serving most of Massachusetts. Our clients include asylum seekers, unaccompanied minors, and victims of violence. We currently provide free legal consults and legal representation to approximately 400 clients each year - and we're still growing!

In the past year, we have finalized a strategic plan and launched a major new program for unaccompanied youth. We are poised for significant growth in the coming months. A key element to our success will be the recruitment of several new Board members, who will have a real opportunity to contribute to the organization. At this time, we are particularly seeking Board members with one or more of the following skills / areas of experience:

    • Basic Non-Profit Financials/Accounting
    • Fundraising/Marketing
    • HR
    • Non-Profit Management
    • Non-Profit Board Service

This role is remote except for two in-person Massachusetts meetings / year. We encourage candidates throughout Massachusetts both with and without Board experience to apply. All candidates are very welcome, including those with lived experiences similar to those of our clients. We are happy to share a more detailed description and our Board expectations with anyone interested. To apply, write to NEJFON@newenglandjfon.org and include the word “Board” in your subject line. We hope to hear from you!
