    STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program that specializes in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

    Location: Remote

    Time commitment: 6 hours/week

    Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst Volunteer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting data to support the development, evaluation, and enhancement of STEM Canada’s programs and initiatives. This position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in data analysis tools, and a commitment to leveraging data to drive informed decision-making.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Collect, organize, and manage data from various sources, including program evaluations, surveys, and performance metrics. Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.

    • Perform statistical analysis and interpret complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights. Generate actionable insights to support program development and strategic decision-making.

    • Create detailed reports, visualizations, and dashboards to present data findings and trends. Tailor reports to meet the needs of different stakeholders, including program managers and executive leadership.

    • Track and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to STEM Canada’s programs and initiatives. Provide regular updates and recommendations based on data analysis.

    • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness and impact of STEM Canada’s programs by analyzing feedback, performance data, and outcome measures. Identify areas for improvement and provide data-driven recommendationss.

    • Work closely with program coordinators, educators, and other departments to understand their data needs and provide analytical support. Ensure that data analysis aligns with organizational goals and priorities.

    • Implement and maintain data quality assurance practices to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data. Address any data discrepancies or issues that arise.

    • Keep informed about the latest trends and best practices in data analysis and educational technology. Recommend and implement new tools and techniques to enhance data analysis capabilities.

    Requirements:

    • Demonstrated experience in data analysis, with a strong understanding of statistical methods, data management, and visualization techniques.

    • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and provide meaningful insights and recommendations.

    • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, R). Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to present data findings clearly and effectively to various stakeholders.

    • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple data projects and meet deadlines.

    • Passion for STEM education and a commitment to supporting STEM Canada’s mission through data-driven insights and analysis.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required. Experience with data analysis and visualization tools is preferred.

    • Ability to engage with a diverse global audience and work within a multicultural environment.
