Social Media Content Creator & Graphic Designer for Queer Non-profit

About the Role

Fruitslice is seeking a talented and passionate Social Media Content Creator & Graphic Designer to join our team and help amplify our mission of uplifting and celebrating queer art and voices. This remote, asynchronous volunteer role allows for flexibility and creativity while contributing to a Queer-run organization.

You’ll collaborate with our Social Media Director and Art Directors to create visually compelling content that aligns with and elevates our emerging brand identity. This work directly contributes to making Queer art more visible, loud, and proud—especially during a time when Queer voices are being silenced, ignored, and erased.

Key Responsibilities

• Content Creation: Design multiple social media posts weekly, referencing our content calendar and adding completed designs to our queue.
• Brand Alignment: Familiarize yourself with Fruitslice’s Instagram presence , style guides, and digital issues to ensure designs reflect our brand identity while pushing its creative boundaries.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Social Media Director and Art Directors, incorporating feedback to align with Fruitslice’s vision and strategy.
• Team Engagement: Check in with team members and leadership on Slack, attend occasional Zoom meetings (scheduled to accommodate global time zones and fluctuating schedules), and participate in optional office hours for support and connection.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: Proficiency with Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).
• Creative Alignment: Ability to align with and enhance Fruitslice’s aesthetic and mission through bold, impactful design.
• Collaboration Skills: Open to receiving and implementing feedback to refine designs.
• Passion for Queer Art: A strong commitment to uplifting Queer art and voices, with a deep understanding of its importance in today’s world.
• Self-Starter: Comfortable working independently in an asynchronous, remote environment while staying organized and meeting deadlines.
