Are you 55+ and looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community? The Foster Grandparent Program (FGP) in San Francisco is seeking compassionate, low-income seniors to mentor and support children in need.
What You'll Do:
- Provide one-on-one support to children in schools, libraries, and community programs.
- Help with reading, homework, and social skills.
- Share your time, wisdom, and life experience to inspire the next generation.
What You'll Get:
- Financial Support: Earn a tax-free stipend (does not affect benefits like SSI).
- Paid Time Off: Enjoy vacation and sick leave.
- Training: Receive free training to enhance your skills.
- Community: Join a network of caring, like-minded individuals.
Requirements:
- Must be 55 years or older.
- Meet income eligibility guidelines. (Medical expenses may reduce effective income.)
- Commit to at least 15 hours per week.
