Safe Harbor Stables in Redmond Washington is seeking dedicated and energetic volunteers to assist with daily barn chores. This is a highly physical role that directly supports the well-being of our rescue horses.
As a Barn Chore Volunteer, your responsibilities can include:
- Cleaning horse stalls and paddocks
- Scrubbing grain pans and sweeping barn aisles and shelter mats
- Feeding and watering the horses
- Other farm maintenance and care
- Providing much-needed care and love to the SAFE rescue horses
Volunteer Requirements:
- Must be 16 years or older to volunteer independently
- Volunteers aged 8-15 are welcome with a parent/guardian volunteering alongside them
- A virtual orientation and training are required for all new volunteers and are offered regularly each month
- A minimum commitment of one shift per week for at least three months is preferred
- Prior horse experience is helpful but not required
Available Shifts:
- Morning Shift: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Evening Shift: 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM
- Shifts are available seven days a week
