About Superlearner OdV

Superlearner OdV, established in 2018 in Italy, is on a mission to enrich the lives of children in vulnerable environments. Operating primarily in Lima's San Juan de Miraflores district, we are dedicated to providing diverse educational initiatives to those most in need. Our dynamic learning environment offers   classes in languages, arts and sports, all of which are delivered with the enthusiastic support of our global volunteers.

Our committed team also extends its services beyond education, and includes psychologists and nutritionists who conduct free medical visits to families in need, collaborating with the Pamplona Alta health center.

Successful candidates will receive a welcome email with onboarding details.

There is a one-time membership fee of 10 USD/EUR, which helps cover our administration costs. We do not ask for any additional fees throughout the entire volunteer project. As a result, we are unable to provide accommodation, meals, or any other services.

Program Highlights

• Free-time activities: Lima, located on the Pacific coast, offers plenty of activities during your free time, such as swimming, surfing, and other water sports. The city also boasts a vibrant nightlife, concerts, shopping, sightseeing, museums, and hiking opportunities.
• Community Events: The Superlearner team organizes regular events to foster connections among volunteers.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Participate in community site visits and Superlearner project-related trainings and events
• Consult and coordinate with team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate educational and health programs
• Conduct educational sessions and workshops for children and families
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate community outreach efforts
• Evaluate learning needs and provide educational resources appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances
• Develop and implement health improvement programs in collaboration with local health specialists and civic groups
• Provide clinical capacity building and health education to local staff and community health workers
• Implement initiatives to educate the community about health topics and resources
• Distribute educational materials

Qualifications & Skill Requirements

• Spanish proficiency is highly desirable but not mandatory
• A relevant degree (e.g., Education, Psychology, Nutrition) would be nice but is not required.
• Ability to perform in resource-limited working conditions
• Ability to work collaboratively and professionally while navigating cultural and language barriers
• Familiarity and interest in global education and health issues
• Problem solver, able to identify needs, and develop solutions
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Adaptable and flexible
• Willingness to work in resource-limited settings
• Experience in community settings preferred
• International experience or experience working in developing countries is preferred
