About Powerlight Daycare

Powerlight Daycare is dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children (ages 1-5) from underserved communities. Many of the children we support come from low-income families who face significant economic challenges. Our daycare ensures these children receive quality early childhood care and education while giving parents the opportunity to work and provide for their families. We believe every child deserves love, care, and a strong educational foundation, regardless of their background.

Volunteer Responsibilities

As a volunteer, you will:

✅ Assist caregivers in daily routines, including feeding, playtime, and nap schedules

✅ Engage children in creative and educational activities such as storytelling, singing, and art

✅ Support early childhood learning through basic literacy and numeracy exercises

✅ Provide emotional support and encouragement to children from challenging backgrounds

✅ Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for children

✅ Assist in organizing community outreach efforts for parents and caregivers

Qualifications & Skills

🌟 Passion for working with young children, especially those from underserved backgrounds

🌟 Patience, empathy, and a strong sense of social responsibility

🌟 Ability to work in a team and adapt to a dynamic childcare setting

🌟 Experience in childcare, early childhood education, or social work (preferred but not required)

🌟 Basic knowledge of Swahili is a plus but not required
