The World Roma Federation, is a 501c3 tax-exempt nonprofit organization established in 2013, in New York City. Since its birthed the organization has acquired special consultative status with the UN, UNESCO, and has been granted a chair on the sustainable development committess. Recently, became official partners with the New European Bauhaus organization.
WRF is an international organization providing a range of services to underserved ethnic, minority and disenfranchised groups. In Europe our focus is centered on economic, social, communal, and political behaviors and atmospheres that directly impact the ethnic Roma/ni people in Europe. The Roma/ni are the largest minority group in Europe having a population somewhere between 10 to 11 million. Impacting social issues are immigration, lack of resources, opportunities, segregation, seclusion, little to no access to public programs and forced evictions.
Other factors hindering inclusion and upward mobility are repressive policies, civil rights infringement, and political bias and bigotry from officials in power.
In the United States, WRF focuses on development and homelessness. Homelessness is a social epidemics that results in high taxes, overcrowding, community disturbances, and police removals.
Homelessness in America is shrouded in bias, prejudices, and indignities. Ideas such as these are determinitive in all processes of the rehabilitation and reintegration hindering reentry back into the workforce and ultimately society. Covid has increased the homeless population and with forced evictions, budgetory set backs, lack of zoning, planing and development, as well as "State" mismanagement of funds there is no set resolution to deter or solve the homeless crises throughout the states.
It is a issue that will continually expand which will result in further societal issues such as narcotic use, distribution, crime, higher taxation for law enforcement, and state financial burdens.
To counter these measures our organization has developed socioeconomic programs premised upon the sustainable development goal initative established by the United Nations.
SDG 1-11, 16 and 17 are the basic foundation for our Roma initatives to ensure the proper evolution and progression of underdeveloped groups and people as the Roma.
SDG 1, 3, and 11 are the frameworks for which our Homeless programs are designed in order to equip less fortunate families and inidividuals reintergrate back into US society.
