As the largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, our mission is guided by four key commitments, each essential to our work in advocating for justice and community empowerment.

CAIR-CA, as part of CAIR’s nationwide network, works to uplift and protect the rights of California’s Muslim communities through civil rights advocacy, media outreach, government affairs, and community empowerment.

Since its founding in 1994, CAIR has promoted a positive and accurate portrayal of Islam, supporting a vision of a nation where Muslims live as fully integrated, valued, and active members of society. Through a commitment to grassroots organization and a focus on local issues, CAIR-CA seeks to empower the state’s Muslim population to advocate for justice and participate fully in American life.
