The Who We Are Project ("TWWAP") is a nonprofit organization challenging the dominant narrative of our nation’s founding, demonstrating how anti-Black racism was and remains a central part of U.S. history, and working to promote education, discourse, healing and change.
TWWAP envisions a time when true and accurate U.S. history is endemic not just throughout the U.S. but around the world.
We believe a reckoning with the true and complete history of anti-Black racism in the nation’s past and present is the first step to racial restoration and equity.
Towards this vision, TWWAP aims to be a fundamental resource for exposing truths about our history that have long been hidden and distorted. This space is a dynamic and active space for growth, documentation, sharing and telling our nation’s stories.
