Dyslexia Tutoring Program

  • Missão

Dyslexia Tutoring Program's mission is to remove financial barriers to literacy so that everyone can learn to read, no matter how they learn or how much they earn. We accomplish this by providing low-income dyslexic learners with free access to the specialized, critical literacy services that can help them learn to read and live with hope. Why? Because everything begins with reading.

    Sobre Nós

Dyslexia Tutoring Program (DTP) provides free one-on-one tutoring, professional assessments, summer camp experiences, social-emotional support and other services to low-income children and adults with dyslexia or language based learning differences in greater Baltimore.

All tutors are volunteers, who receive 30 hours of Level I Orton Gillingham training - a proven, structured, multisensory teaching approach aligned with the Science of Reading - to prepare them to work with dyslexic learners. Training is free for tutors who commit to tutoring a student in our program for at least 60 hours.

DTP employs a careful and curated application process to determine eligibility and ensure our program will be able to address our applicants' reading difficulties effectively. As a result, our program makes real and lasting difference in our students' lives.

Join us in giving hope, and building a better community - one word and one reader at a time.
