We are an international legal organization committed to using the law to improve the lives of women and girls. We litigate cases, we work with judges to ensure that they are respecting and advancing women’s

rights and we partner with activists to use the courts and the law to eliminate barriers to justice.

Our dedicated staff on four continents works across languages, cultures and borders to promote social change that advances the human rights of women and girls, especially those facing multiple inequalities. We have fifteen years of success using the law as a tool for equality. Judges trust and listen to us. We give those women who are too often ignored a voice. We speak out against injustice and we win.

Using legal, communications, and alliance strategies, we tackle some of the biggest challenges to equality that women face today. We are:

• Making courts a place free from discrimination
• Fighting for laws and policies that protect and respect women’s sexual and reproductive rights and health.
• Putting women front and center in transitional justice processes, to ensure that the crimes experienced by women and girls during conflict don’t go overlooked.
• Making sure the law protects and respects – and doesn’t harm – women, and girls who are victims of human trafficking.
• Protecting the dignity and rights of women and girls when they cross borders
