Purelements is a 501 (c) 3 non- profit organization designed to build advancements in community and health awareness through the exploration of the performing arts. We have multi-faceted arts training programs which inspire students of all ages, from the novice to the pre-professional. Our organization prides itself on its ability to reach diverse populations within the cultural/fine arts community and sets the standard for achievement in arts education with a special interest in the evolvement of underserved communities.
Our effective programming is three fold…
Project AIRE (Artistic Influences=Revitalizing Education) is a New York City based arts in education program designed to use multiple art forms to enhance literacy and influence community involvement. Through partnerships with Purelements’ teaching artists and the Dept. of Education administrators, a customized arts curriculum is built to effectively serve the school's population. While following the Blueprint for the Arts and the NYS Learning Standards for the Arts, Project AIRE residencies offer introductory and comprehensive training in Dance, Theater, Music, and the Visual Arts. Purelements is also the proud creator its unique CORE KNOWLEDGE Model available for all applicable schools.
COAR (Center of Artistic Refinement) is a pre-professional training program ideal for students exploring future careers in the performing arts and/or art education. COAR participants study various dance disciplines including Ballet, Contemporary Modern, West African, Hip Hop, and Jazz as they develop and refine their artistic skills through workshops, performance opportunities and professional mentorship.
Purelements: The Company- Inspired by the foundations of Contemporary, African and Hip Hop Dance, Co-Executive Artistic Directors Kevin Joseph and Lakai Worrell lead this critically-acclaimed professional dance company with their vividly dynamic choreography created to speak to the socio-emotional exploration of the human experience.
Purelements: The Company has been presented by Thelma Hill Performing Arts Center, The Riverside Theater, City Parks Foundation, The US Embassy, Arte Campos, and Orquesta Sinfónica Juvenil de El Salvador
