IFEL was founded in 2002, with a planning grant from The Prudential Foundation, in partnership with the New Jersey Institute of Technology Enterprise Development Center (NJIT EDC) and Rutgers University Newark Campus. In addition marketing its services directly to entrepreneurs, IFEL is heavily focused on providing services through program management arrangements with corporations, foundations, social service and economic development agencies.
IFEL works with for-profit and nonprofit entrepreneurs with a special emphasis on women, minority and inner city based entrepreneurs.
