Climate 2025 is a not-for-profit social enterprise founded at the start of this decisive decade. Our mission is to catalyse the urgent response to the climate and ecological crisis by enhancing the effectiveness and reach of community-led climate action worldwide. We provide infrastructure and capacity-building support to emerging movements working for urgent systemic change. We accelerate and amplify the efforts and outputs of causes we believe in, offering start-up support, strategic development, and fundraising services. Our unique experience with social movements allows us to foster great people and projects, providing structure and guidance to turn ideas into action.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and creative Social Media and Communications Intern to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who is enthusiastic about climate and social justice, and who wants to make a tangible impact through effective communication and digital engagement. You will play a key role in initiating a new Instagram account and revitalising our LinkedIn presence. You will report directly to the Fundraising and Communications Manager and collaborate with other team members as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Content Creation: Develop engaging and impactful content for our social media platforms, with a focus on launching and growing our new Instagram account and bringing life to our LinkedIn account.
• Instagram Launch: Plan and execute the strategy for launching our new Instagram account, including content themes, posting schedules, and follower engagement strategies.
• LinkedIn Revitalisation: Enhance our LinkedIn presence by regularly updating the account with relevant content, engaging with followers, and expanding our professional network.
• Campaign Support: Assist in planning and executing social media campaigns that align with our mission and goals.
• Community Engagement: Interact with our online community, respond to comments and messages, and foster positive relationships with our audience.
• Research: Stay updated on current events and trends related to climate and social justice to inform our communications strategy.
• Analytics: Monitor and analyse social media performance using analytics tools, and suggest improvements to increase engagement and reach.
• Collaborative Projects: Work closely with the communications team on various projects, including email newsletters, press releases, and blog posts - with a particular focus on launching our new brand.

Qualifications:

• Social Media Savvy: Proficiency in using major social media platforms, particularly Instagram and LinkedIn, and an understanding of their algorithms and best practices.
• Passion for Climate and Social Justice: Demonstrated interest in climate change, environmental issues, and social justice.
• Strong Communication Skills: Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
• Creativity: Ability to create visually appealing and compelling content.
• Organisational Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Team Player: Collaborative mindset and willingness to support team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience: Previous experience in social media management, communications, or related fields is a plus.
• Education: Pursuing a qualification in Communications,PR, Marketing, or a related field.
• Tech Skills: Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and social media management tools (e.g., Mailchimp).
