During the day, participants are actively engaged in hands-on work in Sojourners’ office in Washington, D.C., gaining a real-world understanding of the challenges and rewards of the nonprofit sector. Participants will work in an entry-level position, building relational and job-related skills applicable to many future endeavors.

    Possible work placements include:

    • Circulation and Administrative Assistant
    • Social Media and Communications Assistant
    • Donor Services Assistant
    • Mobilizing and Policy Assistant
    • Online Editorial Assistant
    • Magazine Editorial Assistant

Fellows enjoy furnished accommodations and essential amenities in a spacious row house owned by Sojourners. Community living fosters collective experiences and mutual support for young adults as they navigate the complexities of the working world.

As an organization, we draw on a long and diverse tradition of Christians seeking justice, across different traditions, cultures, and times in history. Therefore, people from all Christian expressions and backgrounds, people of color, and LGBTQ identities are vital to the movement and especially encouraged to apply.

The Sojourners Fellowship Program has been going strong for 40 years, and its alumni have gone on to make a lasting impact in their communities and beyond in a wide variety of professions.
