    Senior Communications & Partnerships Manager

    Location: Remote (with occasional travel)

    Position Overview

    Travel Unity is seeking a Senior Communications & Partnerships Manager to lead and execute our communications strategy while cultivating meaningful partnerships that advance our mission. The ideal candidate is a strategic communicator with experience in nonprofit outreach, marketing, and relationship-building.

    This role will focus on expanding Travel Unity’s visibility, engaging key stakeholders, and driving partnership development across the travel industry and beyond. The successful candidate will be a proactive storyteller who can craft compelling narratives, oversee digital content, and build relationships that support Travel Unity’s goals.

    The Senior Communications & Partnerships Manager will have one direct report.

    Key Responsibilities

    Communications & Marketing

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy to elevate Travel Unity’s brand and messaging.
    • Manage digital platforms, including the website, social media, newsletters, and other outreach channels.
    • Create compelling content (articles, blog posts, social media posts, press releases) to promote Travel Unity’s programs, partnerships, and impact.
    • Oversee the development of promotional materials and marketing collateral.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communications.
    • Track analytics and engagement metrics to assess the effectiveness of communication efforts.

    Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement

    • Manage the Travel Unity Alliance through supporting recruitment of new members, retaining existing members, and implementing outreach and engagement strategies to expand membership base.
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key partners in Travel Unity Alliance, including Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs), travel businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies.
    • Contribute to the development of membership benefits and engagement strategies for Travel Unity Alliance members.
    • Support fundraising and sponsorship efforts through communications efforts.
    • Occasionally represent Travel Unity at conferences, industry events, and webinars to expand visibility and partnerships.

    Event & Program Support

    • Support communications and outreach for Travel Unity’s events, including Summits, the Travel Unity Annual Dinner, and educational programming.
    • Assist in coordinating speakers, media outreach, and event promotion.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to showcase success stories from Travel Unity’s youth and workforce programs.

    Required Qualifications

    • 4+ years of experience in nonprofit communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
    • 2+ years of people management experience.
    • Strong writing and storytelling skills with the ability to create engaging content across multiple platforms.
    • Experience in social media management, email marketing, and digital communications.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain partnerships with organizations and stakeholders.
    • Comfort using project management tools and digital collaboration platforms (e.g., Google Workspace, Slack, Asana).
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a remote work environment.
    • Familiarity with website management and basic graphic design (e.g., Canva, WordPress).
    • Experience using generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) for content creation, marketing, and workflow optimization.
    • Comfort communicating via Google Chat and Zoom.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in the travel, tourism, or hospitality industry.
    • Familiarity with DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion), especially in the context of travel and tourism.
    • Experience collaborating with neurodivergent colleagues and/or working in high-energy, dynamic environments.
    • Experience with fundraising, donor relations, and sponsorship development.

    Time Commitment & Location

    • Part-time (starting at 10 hours/week for training, increasing to 20 hours/week), primarily during U.S. Eastern Time working hours.
    • Remote position, with occasional travel for conferences and events.
    • Strong preference for candidates in NYC area or the broader U.S. Eastern Time Zone, but not required.

    Compensation

    • $30-45/hr (depending on experience).
