    Payroll Manager at Lincoln Center Theater

    Lincoln Center Theater (LCT) has produced over 200 plays and musicals at the Vivian

    Beaumont, Mitzi E. Newhouse, and Claire Tow Theaters at Lincoln Center and other theaters on

    and off-Broadway, as well as touring productions nationally and around the world. LCT is

    committed to developing and producing new works and classics with an emphasis on the work of

    new and emerging playwrights, directors, and designers. LCT’s education program, Open Stages,

    reaches thousands of public-school students annually with curriculum-related projects, teaching

    artist support, and tickets to LCT productions.

    Position Summary:

    We are seeking a Payroll Manager to join our Finance Department. Under the direction of the

    Controller and the Director of Finance, the Payroll Manager will be responsible for the accurate

    and timely processing and delivery of payroll for all administrative and union employees.

    This position requires significant interactions with managers of other departments and with

    Lincoln Center Theater’s payroll vendor to understand and improve payroll preparation,

    submission and tracking processes.

    Responsibilities:

    • Administer the weekly administrative payroll including garnishments, benefits and taxes

    accurately to employee elections and consistent with federal and state laws.

    • Coordinate the weekly submission of union payroll across multiple departments. Train

    colleagues as needed on proper payroll submission procedures and schedules.

    • Maintain auditable files of payroll data and records, and work with administrative staff to

    ensure that the organization’s employee payroll files are complete and up to date

    including W4 forms, timesheets etc. Ensure the processing of new hires, transfers,

    promotions and terminations are accurate and timely with full supporting backup.

    • Monitor the department’s weekly funding of payroll and tax payments, and the payroll

    vendor’s remittance of taxes to the relevant authorities.

    • Prepare weekly journal entries for payroll accounting.
    • Prepare and distribute management reports. Support periodic payroll analysis within the

    Finance department such as for budgeting, projections, pay-related calculations, and

    workers compensation audits.

    • Become familiar with current union agreements and relevant terms and schedules.
    • Critically review and analyze payroll, benefits and tax procedures and recommend

    improvements for the processing, tracking and reporting of information. Work with IT to

    design and maintain security procedures to ensure the confidentiality of all payroll related information.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, human resources or related field, or equivalent relevant

    experience.

    • 3+ years of payroll processing experience with union payroll experience preferred.
    • MS Office proficiency (Excel required). Adobe Acrobat proficiency.
    • Must be service- and team-oriented, enthusiastic and self-motivated.
    • Knowledge of related federal, state, local laws and regulations.
    • A proactive, problem-solving attitude and excellent interpersonal skills.

    Compensation:

    This is a full-time, exempt, salaried position with an annual salary range of $80,000-$90,000.
