The Staff Associate I (Project Assistant) will work with the Project Director to review tasks and deliverables associated with the project’s cohort cities (cities who have been selected to undergo training and capacity building towards data-driven policy making as part of the MOU with Grantor Bloomberg Philanthropies), conduct first round review of research, drafts and deliverables. The Project Assistant will accompany the Project Director during site visits to the cohort cities (Currently Reno, NV, Chattanooga, TN & Kansas City, KS. The cohort rolls over & changes as we proceed) and training sessions with the members of the cohort city teams, taking notes, providing feedback to both director and participants. Will support the Director’s research, strategic planning, and donor relations. The project assistant will also be responsible for converting data and policy findings into social media and other awareness campaign materials, will support survey dissemination and data analysis.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in political science, policy, or sociology. Master’s degree preferred.Minimum of 2-3 years of related experience. Previous work experience combining data and policy for applied and professional audiences. Strong communications and organizational skills demonstrated through writing and work samples.
