    Studio Institute, LLC (Studio) seeks enthusiastic, driven, organized, and collaborative Project Coordinators to support the Bloomberg Arts Intern college program.

    The ideal candidate for this position should possess an interest in both visual and performing arts education with a strong background in project coordination, program facilitation, data management, and event coordination. The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment is crucial, as is the willingness to travel weekly to visit internship sites and facilitate events within your city.

    The Project Coordinator is a seasonal part-time position reporting to the Associate Manager of Bloomberg Arts Intern, College, and supports the supervision of a cohort of interns in collaboration with the Associate Manager.

Studio is currently working with partners in Boston, Baltimore, Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Memphis, Newark, New Orleans, New York, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C.

    The Bloomberg College Arts Intern program provides exciting and challenging paid summer internships to college students within arts and cultural organizations. The program launched in the summer of 2024 in four cities: New York, Boston, Baltimore, and Philadelphia. Based on this early success, the program will expand to include Washington, DC for the summer of 2025.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Project Coordinator position holds an integral role in the success of the Bloomberg College Arts Internship Program, enhancing program efficiency and accountability with specific, scheduled responsibilities. All coordinators must commit to a pre-determined schedule, ensuring all tasks are completed promptly and effectively. Their duties primarily include, but are not limited to:

    • Orientation, Kick-off Meeting and Follow-up:
    • Attendance at orientation to understand job responsibilities.
    • Attendance at initial Kick-Off meeting with the intern and supervisor.
    • Conduct a follow-up after one week to assess onboarding progress.
    • Site Visits:
    • Visit each internship site twice at minimum to understand intern experiences firsthand.
    • Document and observe program dynamics.
    • Make timely improvements for project success.
    • Intern Support:
    • Regular check-ins with interns will be scheduled to provide coaching and review their weekly logs, including a combination of virtual, phone and in-person communication.
    • Review interns’ weekly logs and provide constructive feedback to ensure clarity, accuracy, and reflection on their learning journey.
    • Guide cohort discussions following program day activities to promote collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking in alignment with program objectives.
    • Identify individual and group challenges within the cohort and proactively bring them to the manager’s attention.
    • Technical Assistance for Interns:
    • Provide technical assistance to interns on the submission of final projects and review their final presentations.
    • Ensure submission of hours by interns for proper tracking.
    • Data, Reporting and Survey Oversight:
    • Weekly 1:1 with supervisor to review intern progress, event coordination, data management, and any additional questions or concerns as needed.
    • Produce appropriate data and materials to support the development of surveys, midterms and final reports.
    • Keep supervisor informed of progress and any issues or concerns.
    • Program Day Activities Coordination:
    • Collaborate on creating and supervising weekly Program Days throughout the summer for the cohort. This can include coordinating guest speakers, planning visits to arts organizations, and managing logistics such as set-up and breakdown.

    Education and Professional Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
    • Previous experience working with arts organizations or young professionals in an educational or mentorship capacity.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate program activities and engage diverse stakeholders.
    • Proficient use of MS365 applications (particularly Excel) and Google Suite
    • Knowledge of arts, cultural, and performing arts organizations and a passion for nurturing the next generation of arts professionals.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, adapting to evolving priorities and needs.

    Travel Requirements

    • Must be available to work consistently from mid-May through August (exact dates depend on city and an anticipated schedule will be provided during the interview process), including:
    • Project Coordinator Orientation in May
    • Program Kick Off in June
    • Program Days scheduled on either Wednesday or Friday, depending on the city

    The Project Coordinator position requires up to two days per week of in-person events at their respective city from early June to late August for the duration of the program, which will include a combination of site visits, Program Days, and other in-person events as needed.

    Since 1977, The Studio in a School Association (SIAS) has provided artist-taught visual arts programs in New York City, bringing nearly 700 professional artists into classrooms as teaching artists and role models for more than one million students. Based upon the success of our programs and partnerships under the direction of Thomas Cahill, SIAS formed Studio Institute (Studio) in 2016, naming him its president.

    The goal of the new organization is to expand the scope to provide programs and create new partnerships with communities and cultural organizations nationwide.
