    Descrição

For the past two decades Win Without War has been at the forefront of a national movement focused on building a more peaceful world. Internally, we’ve worked to build the kind of organization that can sustain the whims of any individual White House or Congress, while ensuring that individual team members have what they need to flourish and grow. We know it’ll be critical to maintain the strength of our infrastructure while we dig deep and go further to confront the divisive, dangerous politics of a second Trump administration .

We’re seeking an Executive Assistant to join our operations team for this exciting next phase by working with our Executive Director on scheduling, communications and operations support.

Are you passionate about creating a just future that allows us all to thrive? Do you enjoy working in close collaboration with others dedicated to a shared cause? Can you help create and execute on the internal systems that support an organization to be strong enough to stop war and build peace? If so, keep reading!

    Here’s what you’d do:

    • Manage the Executive Director’s calendar and email inbox, providing day-to-day administrative support.
    • Coordinate and schedule meetings with staff, donors, movement leaders, and other strategic stakeholders.
    • Develop processes and execute on managing incoming communications for the Executive Director to ensure things don’t fall through the cracks.
    • Help plan and organize events on behalf of the Executive Director.
    • Organizing travel and logistics on behalf of the Executive Director.
    • Manage Win Without War’s mail and facilitate strong donor relationships.
    • Provide support on retreat planning and logistics.
    • Provide ad hoc operations support as needed.

You could be great for this job if you:

    • Love logistics and are the type of person that works out of spreadsheets, pays attention to detail, and thrives on project management.
    • Are a clear communicator and have experience managing and giving feedback to different types of stakeholders at all levels.
    • Are self motivated, curious, and have a lot of follow through.
    • Appreciate working on a portfolio that may include a wide array of tasks and collaborators.
    • Love creating systems to make things more efficient and functional.
    • Can use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
    • Care deeply about equity and are able to bring an intersectional analysis both to how we work and what we work on, to have hard conversations when necessary, and to center the experiences of marginalized communities.

Everyone at Win Without War has:

    • A passionate commitment to building a more peaceful world, and to our vision of a U.S. foreign policy rooted in values of peace, justice, and accountability.
    • A willingness to be nimble and work without ego as part of a proactive team of leaders.
    • A commitment to equity and working to dismantle systems of oppression.
    • The ability to rapidly develop a working understanding of the politics of national security as it involves Congress, the executive branch, civil society and social movements, and the media.
    • The ability to work independently when necessary, manage projects, and execute multiple simultaneous tasks on tight deadlines.
    • A healthy sense of humor.
    • Fluency in written and oral American English.

Experience in one or more of the following areas isn’t required, but is a plus:

    • Previous experience working on issues around peace and/or nonprofit operations work.
    • Basic understanding of Congress and Executive branch, the legislative process, and/or grassroots advocacy and lobbying.

Win Without War is part of a network composed of organizations representing a diverse and inclusive movement to radically shift U.S. foreign policy away from a violence-first approach. We want our team to include leaders at every level who recognize the communities and movements our policies impact and reflect the diversity of the United States. Communities disproportionately harmed by the militaristic nationalism driving U.S. foreign policy and underrepresented in the broader field of foreign policy — including women, people of color, persons with disabilities, immigrants, refugees, Muslims, veterans, and LGBTQ candidates — are strongly encouraged to apply.
