Grant Writer

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Working as a member of a small and dynamic team, under the supervisor of the CEO, the Grant Writer is responsible for researching grant opportunities across many funding sectors; Federal, State, local and private foundations. GW will research and connect with grant opportunities: writing, submitting and following up on grant proposals. Working with CEO and Program leaders to develop realistic and attainable proposals, managing grant awards and communications with funders and foundations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough research to identify potential grant opportunities and funding sources.
• Write, edit, and proofread grant proposals to ensure clarity and compliance with guidelines.
• Collaborate with program development teams to gather necessary information for proposals.
• Manage deadlines and maintain organized records of submissions and funding outcomes.
• Utilize Microsoft Office tools to create reports and presentations related to grant activities.
• Participate in strategic planning sessions to align grant writing efforts with organizational goals.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

Preferred:

• Minimum BA/BS degree preferred.
• Minimum two years’ experience in grant writing and management of grant portfolios
