Second Presbyterian Church (2PC), Nashville, Tennessee, is seeking an energetic and experienced part-time Audio/Visual (A/V) Technician to join our team and deliver high-quality live streaming technology for remote access to our worship services. The ideal candidate will be passionate about AV, possess strong technical skills and be comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
SUMMARY
The Audio/Visual Technician plans, organizes, and implements the use of appropriate audio/visual technology, in collaboration with the Senior Pastor, Worship & Music Committee, and other staff and lay worship leaders, that enhances the overall quality of the worship experience at Second Presbyterian Church and creates an atmosphere conducive to worship for those on-site and those watching online. This position is required to be on-site for worship on Sunday mornings and other special services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop the A/V Bulletin in collaboration with worship leaders to ensure audio and visual elements of worship are planned and scheduled for in-person and online A/V elements
Create text and graphic visuals for all live-stream services as needed from content provided by pastoral staff and director of music before worship/event
Communicate regularly with worship leaders to provide A/V support in preparation for weekly services, including attendance at Staff and Worship Committee meetings
Ensure all equipment is set up and working as needed before worship; communicate with worship leaders to discover any last-minute adjustments
Operate the computers and A/V equipment to monitor and manage live video and sound for online worshippers (viewers) through our YouTube livestream, and live sound for in-person worshippers during regular worship and special services (such as Christmas Eve, Good Friday, etc.).
Provide additional A/V guidance to worship leaders for special services on Sundays (such as special choir music, Children’s pageant, etc.)
Maintain current database of visual content available for use in worship services
May be requested to provide A/V for other services (weddings, funerals, etc.), as available
Communicate regularly with the Property Manager to ensure the equipment is properly maintained, troubleshooting and suggesting updates/upgrades as appropriate
Provide training on A/V equipment as needed
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years relevant experience
Experience working with A/V systems, including sound consoles and video production systems
Demonstrated proficiency in the following systems or similar: Blackmagicdesign ATEM Mini Pro, Mackie DL32S wireless digital mixer with Mackie Master Fader control, Canva Pro
Must be able to react quickly and professionally in a dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and maintaining a worshipful presence while addressing the situation
Excellent communication skills with all ages and abilities
Ability to work well in a team and independently
Maintain a positive attitude and be creative and flexible in solving problems
Belief in the mission of 2PC and the ability to convey its meaning and expression in the congregation and the larger community
Hearing sufficient to properly manage the audio for both in-person and online worship
Vision sufficient to properly manage video feed for online worship on the computers and A/V controls
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
COMPENSATION
This is a part-time position (6-8 hours/week) - $35.00 an hour.
