Integrity House operates 16 licensed treatment programs across New Jersey as well as community outreach and prevention programs, and serves over 3,000 individuals every year. Integrity House seeks a nonprofit development and fundraising leader passionate about promoting healthcare access and community wellness. Supervising two direct reports, the Development Manager.

    Reporting to the Senior Director of Development and Strategy, the Development Manager has the following responsibilities:

    Grants & Contact Management

    • Collaborate with Senior Director of Development and Strategy, other senior leadership team members, and program staff to identify and monitor funding priorities that align with the agency’s mission, strategic goals, and business objectives.
    • Engage in implementation planning and proposal development for current and prospective government and foundation funding sources.
    • Provide guidance to the Development Specialist on the submission of compelling proposals and reports on project activities and outcomes.
    • Conduct email and in-person outreach to current and prospective funders develop and strengthen partnerships.

    Events & Individual Giving

    • Lead the successful execution of events – measured by attendance and net profit– such as the Gala, Charity Classic, and Integrity Day in collaboration with the Development Coordinator.
    • Cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors, building strong relationships to increase retention and engagement.
    • Coordinate and execute personalized donor communications, ensuring donors are well-informed of the impact of their contributions.
    • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to develop and execute online fundraising and direct mail campaigns.
    • Partner with the Integrity House Board of Trustees, President and CEO, and Senior Director of Development and Strategy to identify, cultivate, and secure major gifts.
    • Explore, assess, and develop additional fundraising strategies such as planned giving.

    General

    • Ensure accurate and timely data entry and record-keeping for all development activities, using CRM software to manage donor information.
    • Prepare regular reports on fundraising activities, donor engagement, and event performance.
    • Analyze fundraising data in collaboration with the Senior Director of Development and Strategy to evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives and guide future strategies.
    • Remain informed about developments in substance use disorder prevention, treatment, and recovery; mental health; recovery supports, and harm reduction to inform proposal development, funder reporting, and relationship development.
    • Remain informed about emerging and best practices in fundraising and nonprofit development.
    • Participate in and contribute to other Development-related initiatives.

    Required Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree.
    • 4+ years of resource development experience with an emphasis on proposal strategy and writing for government funders and foundations.
    • 3+ years of leadership experience.
    • Additional education and training in grant writing and/or fundraising (e.g., CFRE, etc.) preferred.

    Specialized Skills, Abilities and Knowledge:

    • Excellent proposal writing abilities.
    • Creative self-starter with strong analytical, prioritization, planning, and organizational skills.
    • Knowledge of diverse funding streams (i.e., foundations, city, county state, federal) to support substance use disorder/addiction treatment, mental health, and/or social service programs.
    • Experience planning and executing fundraising events.
    • Strong interpersonal skills leading to productive and positive relationships with staff, trustees, and current and prospective institutional and individual donors.
    • Understanding of all aspects of the donor cycle (i.e., prospecting, cultivation, and stewardship).
    • Familiarity with Bloomerang or other CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, etc.).
    • Technological proficiency (i.e., ability to work with Google Workspace, multiple online application submission portals, word processors, spreadsheets, presentation software, etc.).
    • Interest in and understanding of substance use disorder, mental health, recovery, and/or public health.

    Schedule:

    • 8 hour shift
    • Monday to Friday
    • No weekends

    Education:

    • Bachelor's (Required)

    Experience:

    • Fundraising: 3 years (Required)
    • Grant writing: 3 years (Required)

    Ability to Relocate:

    • Newark, NJ 07102: Relocate before starting work (Required)
