Your Role
PEC is seeking an experienced foundation relations professional to grow our portfolio of grants.
As the Grants Manager, you will be responsible for managing and expanding our base of grants from local, regional and national foundations, as well as actively supporting our government grants. As the point person for coordinating and advancing relationships with our foundation partners, you will be an integral member of a 7-person advancement team working to fund an annual budget of roughly $7 million, including more than $1 million in foundation grants.
We are seeking a person who has worked with foundations for several years and understands how foundations work. PEC’s current grants portfolio includes a variety of family foundations with living donors, legacy family foundations, private independent foundations, and community foundations. You will have know-how in engaging foundation staff and coordinating relationships with Trustees and other foundation stakeholders. You will work extensively with PEC’s 50-member staff to develop proposals and reports, and prepare timely updates to funders. You will keep a calendar of report and proposal deadlines and coordinate development and submission of these documents with our program and finance staff.

This position will be based out of PEC’s headquarters office in Warrenton, VA, with some ability to telework. You can also expect to travel to locations within PEC’s region a few times a quarter for meetings and site visits. Occasional attendance at night or weekend events may be required.
