    Who We Are

    The LOFT LGBTQ+ Community Center is a non-profit institution that provides services for the LGBTQ+ community in Westchester County, NY, and the Lower Hudson Valley Region. We offer in-person, virtual, and hybrid services, including support groups, social activities, and special events like Westchester Pride, The Hudson Valley Trans Forum, and The Trans Support of The Hudson Valley (TSHV). Founded in 1983, our center is currently located at 252 Bryant Ave, White Plains, NY 10605.

    Principal Functions

    The Senior Program Manager for Trans Support of the Hudson Valley (TSHV) plays a pivotal role in advancing The LOFT’s mission by focusing on two key areas: strengthening trans programs, groups, and services and driving racial equity within the trans community.

    In this leadership role, you will oversee and expand the TSHV program, ensuring it effectively supports and empowers transgender, gender non-conforming, and non-binary individuals across the Lower Hudson Valley region, strongly emphasizing communities of color. You will be the primary point of contact for all trans-related programming within the organization, driving the development and implementation of initiatives that specifically address the unique needs of these communities.

    Additionally, you will focus on advancing racial equity within The LOFT’s operations, creating an inclusive environment that uplifts and supports trans people of color. Your work will involve collaborating with leadership to enhance organizational practices and refine policies to ensure they are equitable, inclusive, and responsive to the evolving needs of the communities The LOFT serves.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Supervision and Program Management:

    • Oversee TSHV program initiatives supporting transgender, gender non-conforming, and non binary individuals across multiple counties.
    • Manage TSHV grant implementation and drive program growth.
    • Supervise the TSHV Program Manager, ensuring program success and alignment with organizational goals.

    2. Prevention and Health Promotion:

    • Lead efforts to prevent HIV/STD/HCV infections and promote screening services.
    • Ensure access to high-quality medical care for people living with HIV.
    • Enhance access to comprehensive sexual health information.

    3. Support Services:

    • Facilitate access to prevention services, including PrEP/PEP linkage.
    • Increase social support and reduce isolation for TGNCNB individuals.
    • Boost self-esteem and provide essential supportive services through group facilitation.
    • Offer support group services to incarcerated individuals in collaboration with the NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS).

    4. Case Management:

    • Manage a caseload of 20-25 individuals, conduct multidisciplinary case conferences, and coordinate services.
    • Assist in inputting grant reporting data into the AIRS online reporting system.

    5. Advocacy and Partnership Development:

    • Be the spoken person for all TSHV events and programs and represent The LOFT in county and regional HIV/STD/HCV networks.
    • Advocate for clients to support their self-sufficiency and well-being.
    • Develop and maintain partnerships with regional service providers.

    6. Health Education and Outreach:

    • Oversee program events and services related to Transmission and the Hudson Valley Trans Forum.
    • Identify and facilitate necessary health education services.

    Qualifications

    • B.A. or B.S. with 3+ years of experience in social services, including HIV/AIDS, LGBTQ+, behavioral
    • health, substance use disorder, or chronic illnesses.
    • Proven program management experience in DEI and community support contexts, with cultural
    • competency in LGBTQ+ communities and intersections of identity.
    • Strong supervisory skills and experience managing staff and programmatic initiatives.
    • Bilingual skills and familiarity with the AIRS data reporting system are advantageous.
    • Excellent organizational, communication, and advocacy skills, with experience in trauma-informed practices and evidence-based approaches.
    • Proficient in Word, Excel, Google Workspace, and electronic record-keeping.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, handle sensitive issues with discretion, and work independently as well as part of a team.
    • Willingness to work some evenings and occasional weekends, with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

    Additional Information:

    • Must be willing to work some evenings and occasional weekends.
    • This position requires traveling within the counties served by TSHV to attend events and meetings.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Sit for extended periods while working at a desk or in meetings.
    • Use a computer and other office equipment effectively.
