    Descrição

The Billion Oyster Project’s PMO (Project Management Office) Manager is an organized, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working collaboratively with teams. This proactive problem-solver is IT-savvy and skilled at communicating clearly with all levels of stakeholders. With strong leadership abilities, the PMO Manager will motivate and guide project management teams to deliver high-quality results on time, within scope, and on budget.

This role is critical in ensuring that project management processes are efficient, standardized, and aligned with organizational goals while navigating the complexities of a dynamic nonprofit environment. The PMO Manager will support three programmatic departments—Community Engagement, Education, and Restoration—by implementing and maintaining project management best practices. They will facilitate project team and program-level planning and execution, and foster cross-functional collaboration and information sharing.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for the Billion Oyster Project's mission and a demonstrated ability to drive organizational success through effective project management, clear communication, and collaboration.

    What You’ll Do:

As a new and collaborative role, the PMO Manager will work closely with the Senior Director of Programs (and other directors and managers) to understand existing projects and processes. Success will be measured by the adoption of standardized project management practices and improved project and program delivery efficiency. This position will support programs through planning, monitoring, and reporting on the delivery of over 1,000 events annually. Additionally, this role will guide some of our teams through the development of standard operating procedure (SOP) documentation. To support your success, we will offer comprehensive onboarding, mentoring, professional development, and cross-functional collaboration as you refine our PMO practices.

Our team primarily uses Smartsheet for project management, planning, and implementation. Smartsheet is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) for collaboration and work management developed and marketed by Smartsheet Inc. It assigns tasks, tracks project progress, manages calendars, shares documents, and manages other work. The ideal candidate is experienced in using this software or, at minimum, comfortable working with similar software and enjoys and excels at working in a SaaS environment.

    Qualifications:

    • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Non-profit Administration, OR a related field, OR equivalent professional experience and training demonstrating a strong foundation in project and team management and collaboration.*
    • The ability to effectively support and oversee project and portfolio management activities, and collaborate with a large team of project managers.
    • Training or experience in designing and/or implementing Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) systems, including developing data collection tools, conducting assessments, and training staff on MEL methodologies and best practices.
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent experience in project management methodologies and best practices, such as Agile or Scrum, with a proven track record of successfully applying these principles in a professional setting.
    • Proficiency in project management software, including using spreadsheets for analysis and reporting.
    • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
    • A proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
    • We will consider candidates with non-traditional Project Management backgrounds, including alternative educational or workplace experience, on a case-by-case basis. We strongly encourage potential candidates to apply even if they don’t fit every qualification listed above.
