The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for the organization’s administrative oversight to ensure the fulfillment of Opera Paralèlle (OP)’s mission and progress towards its long-term goals. As the chief administrator, the ED is responsible for fiscal management, including review of the budgeting process and monitoring of the annual budget. The ED leads the areas of fund development, finance, business planning (facilities, technology), marketing and promotion, and human resources—i.e., the day-to-day operations of the company. In collaboration with the Artistic/Founding Director (AD) and the Board of Directors, the ED leads strategic planning and execution. The ED is responsible for management and professional development of all directors in the areas of finance, marketing, and development. The ED is also responsible for setting, nurturing, and maintaining the company culture, working closely with the AD, who is responsible for the overall artistic direction and strategy of the company.
Fundraising & Development/External Relations
Manage the Development Director and ensure that the development plan is designed to reach annual fundraising goals. Participate in the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gifts, as appropriate. Areas of oversight include:

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience as a nonprofit professional who has successfully worked with small diverse teams to accomplish organizational goals. They will be a skilled communicator, a strategic thinker, and an effective leader. Their background will include a proven track record in finance, development and marketing. They will have worked with governing boards in close successful partnership. They will be flexible in attitude and creative in thinking while able to keep track of important details and deadlines.
