    Seattle Pride seeks an Events Manager to lead the planning and execution of major events, dedicated to crafting impactful, inclusive, and accessible experiences for the LGBTQIA2S+ community that align with our mission.

    The Event Manager oversees the execution, and operational needs of Seattle Pride’s major events, including the Pride Parade, Pride in the Park, and community and cultural events. This role is responsible for all logistical aspects, including permits, contracts, vendor management, safety protocols, and volunteer coordination. Working closely with community partners and the Seattle Pride team, this position ensures events are safe, inclusive, and aligned with Seattle Pride’s mission. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional passionate about creating impactful, accessible events for the LGBTQIA2S+ community.

    Salary range is $68,000 to $78,000 DOE.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & KEY OUTCOMES

    Event Planning & Execution

    • Lead the planning and execution of major Seattle Pride events, coordinating with production teams, vendors, performers, community partners, and other key stakeholders.
    • Develop and maintain event timelines, ensuring seamless coordination of all event components.
    • Manage logistical requirements for each event, including securing permits and insurance, tracking vendor contracts and payments, and coordinating day-of-event operations.
    • Oversee event setup and teardown, working to ensure all events meet accessibility, inclusivity, and safety standards.
    • Conduct debriefs following each event to assess successes, gather feedback, and identify areas for improvement in future events; contribute data for internal and external reporting.

    Volunteer Management

    • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers for Seattle Pride events, collaborating with other staff to ensure volunteer roles are well-defined and supported.
    • Provide volunteers with necessary resources and guidance to foster a supportive and engaging volunteer experience.

    Vendor, Partner, & Budget Management

    • Oversee vendor and contract management, ensuring timely contract execution, adherence to deliverables, and maintenance of payment schedules, renewals, and records. Review vendor invoices, track payments, and collaborate with the finance team to maintain accurate financial records.
    • Work closely with the Director of Community Development & Programs and the Executive Director to develop and manage event budgets.
    • Coordinate with the Partnership Manager to implement event sponsorships and ensure sponsors receive agreed-upon benefits.

    Risk & Safety Management

    • Develop and enforce risk management and safety protocols to ensure all events are safe, welcoming spaces for participants and attendees.
    • Work with contracted Security Manager, local law enforcement, security services, and emergency response teams as needed.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & COMPETENCIES

    • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
    • 3+ years of experience in event planning, logistics, or operations management, with preference for experience in community-focused or nonprofit events.
    • Experience in volunteer management, vendor coordination, and budget oversight is required.
    • A valid driver's license in order to drive on behalf of the organization.

    • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail.
    • Effective communicator, who is collegial and collaborative with multiple stakeholders and skilled in creating positive, inclusive experiences for participants and volunteers.
    • Problem-solver with a proactive approach to risk management, safety planning, and fiscal management.
    • Availability for event days and occasional evening or weekend hours.
    • Background check clearance prior to starting.
