    Job Description – Development & Impact Officer

    Caminos de Agua is seeking a Development & Impact Officer to lead and implement effective strategies for donor engagement, marketing, and fundraising communications. This role is responsible for documenting Caminos’ programs in the field, writing compelling content, managing digital communication channels, and supporting fundraising initiatives to enhance the organization's visibility and impact. The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator with experience in nonprofit development, marketing, or fundraising. This position reports to the Director of Development.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Content Creation & Communications

    • Write 4 to 10 communication pieces per month, including newsletters, blog articles, donor reports, and social media content.
    • Develop and maintain a consistent brand voice that aligns with Caminos de Agua’s mission and values.
    • Create persuasive fundraising materials, impact stories, and reports for donors and stakeholders.

    Marketing & Digital Strategy

    • Develop and implement marketing strategies across multiple channels, including email campaigns, social media, and the website.
    • Manage and update the organization's website and social media accounts, ensuring alignment with branding and strategic goals.
    • Analyze audience engagement metrics and adjust strategies to improve outreach and effectiveness.

    Fundraising & Donor Engagement

    • Support donor cultivation efforts by crafting personalized donor communications and impact updates.
    • Track and evaluate fundraising campaigns, identifying best practices to improve donor retention and engagement.
    • Assist in grant reporting by providing content and impact stories as needed.

    Event Coordination & Logistics

    • Collaborate with the Director of Development to plan and execute fundraising and outreach events.
    • Assist in event promotion, donor stewardship activities, and post-event follow-ups.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, international development, nonprofit management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
    • 2+ years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, communications, or marketing.
    • Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with experience crafting compelling content for different audiences.
    • Proficient in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
    • Proficiency in social media management, email marketing platforms, and website content management.
    • Strong analytical skills to track and assess the impact of communication and fundraising strategies.
    • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Passion for social impact, sustainability, community development, and Caminos de Agua’s mission.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Proficient in Constant Contact for email marketing and donor engagement.
    • Experience in donor relations and fundraising campaigns.
    • Familiarity with CRM systems for donor management (e.g., Donor Perfect). Knowledge of water access, environmental sustainability, or public health issues is a plus.
    • Graphic design skills would be an advantage.

    Reports to: Director of Development
