We are searching for a dynamic and community-oriented individual to join our team as a Community Outreach Coordinator. This role is responsible for spearheading strategic outreach efforts to maintain and elevate TOC's presence within the community. We seek a self-motivated individual to contribute to our "start-up" social enterprise. As a key team member, you'll dedicate 75-85% of your time to cultivating relationships within the local community, raising awareness about the project, and nurturing a supportive community network around TOC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive calendar of outreach activities, encompassing community events, workshops, appearances, and communication opportunities.
- Strategically plan and execute initiatives to optimize community engagement and participation.
- Foster and sustain relationships with collaborative partners, both new and existing, to reinforce community connections and ensure diverse voices and perspectives are represented as TOC progresses.
- Contribute to creating marketing materials and program information to communicate TOC's mission and initiatives effectively.
- Generate accurate records and reports on outreach goals, outcomes, and impact, tracking the effectiveness of outreach efforts.
- Collaborate in developing fundraising strategies, including grant applications, community giving campaigns, and other initiatives.
- Assist in organizing and managing special events, such as donor/volunteer appreciation events and fundraising activities.
- Regularly communicate with leadership and consulting teams to convey community needs and feedback, ensuring alignment with TOC's objectives.
- Support other related tasks and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: A bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing,
community development, social work, nonprofit management, or a related field is
preferred.
Experience:
- Demonstrated experience (2-3 years) in community outreach, public relations, or a related field, preferably within a nonprofit organization or social enterprise setting.
- Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing outreach strategies to engage diverse communities and stakeholders.
- Experience cultivating and maintaining partnerships with community organizations, local businesses, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Familiarity with fundraising strategies and grant writing processes is advantageous.
- Previous involvement in event planning and coordination, including volunteer management and donor relations, is desirable.
- Experience creating and delivering effective marketing materials and communications content for diverse audiences.
