Life Skills Mentor for Adults with Disabilities

Life Skills Mentors help our clients live their best lives and access their communities. Life Skills Mentors provide support, encouragement, and a safe environment that fosters independent living.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support, assistance, and mentorship to adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in the Morristown area (10 mile diameter)
• Support individuals in daily activities such as meal preparation, household chores, scheduling, community integration, personal hygiene, and recreation
• Motivate individuals in developing and enhancing their life skills by encouraging them to be active participants in their daily activities
• Implement individualized support plans and behavior management strategies

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to transport individuals to appointments or community outings
• Ability to provide personal care assistance if needed, including bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with individuals, families, and team members
• Must pass CPR, background check and fingerprinting, etc.

Each individual we support has a different schedule. We are hiring for full-time and part-time positions. All LSMs must work a minimum of 2 weekend days each month as needed.
