    LOCATION: This opportunity is based in Westchester County, New York – Hybrid (remote and in-person across MSP’s Yonkers, White Plains, and Mt. Vernon offices)

    JOB HIGHLIGHTS: As part of a dynamic, diverse team of passionate clinicians and advocates, committed to transforming the world, you will oversee the delivery of culturally relevant, trauma-informed specialized supportive services for survivors of domestic violence.

    JOB OVERVIEW:

    Reports to the Chief Program Officer; As the Senior Director of Family Services at My Sisters’ Place (MSP), you will work to further MSP’s mission in accordance with our guiding principles in a dynamic role leading an established unit at MSP, a domestic violence agency organization. You will lead and oversee the integrated Family Services Unit, which includes Adult Services and Children’s Services. This dynamic role requires a passionate advocate for social justice who is committed to MSP’s mission of ending domestic violence and human trafficking through trauma-informed, culturally relevant, and anti-oppressive practices. You will provide strategic leadership, program management, and supervision to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to survivors and their families.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provide overall management, supervision, and administration of MSP’s Family Services Program, including Adult Services and Children’s Services.
    • Supervise and support a team of staff across MSP’s offices in Yonkers, White Plains, and Mt. Vernon.
    • Oversee the implementation of innovative programs, including the IMPACT demonstration project.
    • Collaborate with MSP’s Shelter, Center for Legal Services, Education and Social Transformation and other program areas to ensure integrated, client-centered support for survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking.
    • Lead MSP’s involvement in the Westchester County Domestic Violence High Risk Team and partnerships with local law enforcement, including the White Plains Police Department.
    • Manage the Web Chat/Text Line platform and staffing during business hours to provide accessible crisis intervention and support.
    • Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate team members, fostering a culture of professional growth and accountability.
    • Gather and analyze program data to monitor effectiveness, prepare reports for funders, and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
    • Provide ongoing training and support to staff on best practices in trauma-informed care, safety planning, and responding to domestic violence.
    • Represent MSP at community meetings, coalitions, and outreach events to strengthen partnerships and improve the regional response to domestic violence.
    • Participate in MSP trainings, committees, and interdepartmental meetings to promote collaboration and integration across the agency.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Degree in Social Work or a related field and a valid NYS license.
    • Minimum of five years of management and supervisory experience in social services or related fields.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of gender-based violence, domestic violence, human trafficking, and trauma-informed care.
    • Strong commitment to anti-oppression principles and social justice.
    • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
    • Ability to manage crises with tact, diplomacy, and sound judgment.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills, with proficiency in Excel, Apricot, and other web-based platforms.
    • Valid driver’s license and reliable, insured transportation.
    • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (or another language widely spoken in the service area) is strongly preferred.
    • Flexibility to work occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed

You recognize that clients come to MSP while navigating different structural and social injustices that affect their experiences of survivorship. You also understand that this work requires an ongoing commitment to developing the language and tools we need to undo institutional oppression.

    You are flexible and work well as part of a team and independently. You have excellent time-management skills and demonstrated ability to multi-task. You are accountable to doing what you say you are going to do.

    TEAM OVERVIEW: MSP’s Family Services Team consists of a Senior Director, a Senior Clinician, Senior Domestic Violence Advocates, Clinicians, DV Advocates, a Coordinator of the Non-Residential Case Management Program, a DV High Risk Coordinator, an Adult/Teen Advocate, an Intake Coordinator and a RISE Domestic Violence Advocate.

    MSP is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization, responding to domestic violence and human trafficking in Westchester County, New York, by providing multi-lingual, trauma-informed legal and supportive services. We bolster our work with clients by engaging in extensive outreach and community education, strengthening the systemic response to all forms of gender-based violence.
