    Organization Overview: The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. We are two of New York City’s leading human services organizations meeting the needs of children, youth and families, homeless individuals, and older adults through-out Manhattan and New York City.     Purpose of Position: Collaborating with Building Management and Social Services Teams to coordinate the logistics of a temporary relocation specialist to and from hospitality pods, during building renovations.

    Schedule: Monday through Friday 9:00am to 5:00 pm (weekends as needed)

    Hourly Rate: $30.00

    Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential Duties

    • Coordinate all relocation and related activities at properties undergoing renovation.
    • Coordinating with residents, vendors, and other service providers to ensure a smooth transition to and from the temporary room.
    • Work with the Project Manager, Onsite Building Manager, staff in the Property Management and Social Services Departments, and external general contractor staff to ensure timely and effective execution of relocation plan.
    • Prepare and serve all relocation related correspondence, handouts, notices, or related information to residents and communicate with staff, including General Information Notice, Notice of Non-Displacement, Required Move Notices, and other move-related notices; maintain records of proof of services.
    • Provide an appropriate response within 24 hours to tenant’s questions, complaints, and concerns regarding relocation; responses will address plans for the building rehabilitation and ownership transfer generally and relocation specifically.
    • Conduct meetings with residents to anticipate needs, to ensure a smooth transition to and from temporary units. Explain and execute relocation agreement during the relocation period to
    • Responsible for tracking relocation project budget to monitor spending and project and prevent overspending. Create tenant information matrix, unit by unit phasing plan, and relocation phasing plan.
    • Coordinate move with relocatees, moving company and building staff including a vacate unit inspection of temporary unit.
    • Distribute and maintain record of gift cards and other incentives and benefits related to the relocation project.
    • Process, monitor, and document relocation claims and issuance of benefits.
    • Provide an appropriate response within 24 hours to tenant’s questions, complaints, and concerns regarding relocation; responses will address plans for the building rehabilitation and ownership transfer generally and relocation specifically.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications/Educational Requirements

    Education

    • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred but not required.

    Experience

    • Two years’ experience working in an administrative role that includes customer service experience, and tasks/ project coordination with both Managers and external customers including but not limited to internships, undergraduate work experience, and graduate assistantships are accepted levels of experience.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel or experience using other project management tracking software platforms.
    • Able to manage changing timelines, works well under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks.
    • Excellent organizational skills, strong written and verbal communication skills.

    Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

    • Environment: Renovation Area, Residential units, office, and outdoor work required.
    • Exposure to dust, loud noise, or extreme heat and cold weather.
    • Essential physical requirements include climbing stairs, walking building, standing, stooping, and typing.
    • Physical effort – medium lifting - up to fifty pounds.
    • Weekend required as needed.
    • Travel requirements – To and from other sites for meeting and as needed for vendor and resident needs.
