Hours: Full-time
Location: Boston (mostly in person, some remote)
Start Date: Flexible/ASAP by 1/1/25
Compensation: $120-150K annually depending on experience, plus bonus potential and vacation benefits
Responsibilities:
Oversee the organization, steward the mission, and design/implement organizational procedures
Represent the organization externally, pursue public support, manage the organization’s growing network of partners and funders, and ensure regular external communications and media attention
Raise funding to sustain and grow the organization, oversee budgeting and financial management, manage grants and reporting, and ensure financial health
Guide the strategic and programmatic direction of the organization, rooted in ongoing solicitation of feedback on industry needs
Work with partner networks to advance public and institutional policy objectives
Hire, train, and manage staff
Develop, track, and document organizational impact measures
Facilitate and support a strong Board of Directors
Requirements:
Solid experience in organizational, program, and/or community management
Strong organization, communication, and community relations skills
Strong background in fundraising and public support
Experience in network, community, and/or stakeholder engagement
Experience with organizational budgeting and accounting
Ability to conduct manual tasks for in-person events, including equipment setup/breakdown/transport, with assistance of administrative and event management staff
Preferences: Understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion work; Background in or at least some understanding of real estate, urban planning, community development, and/or economic development
Key Characteristics: driven, organized, self-motivated, self-directed, eager to learn, personable, flexible
About the Builders of Color Coalition:
The Builders of Color Coalition (buildersofcolor.com) works to increase access and diversity in Boston’s commercial real estate sector, to create generational impact in expanding economic opportunity. The organization was founded in 2017 and has grown to a base of more than 650 real estate professionals of color and strong connections across the industry. We are currently finalizing our 2025-2028 Strategic Plan, which charts out an increase from 3 staff members to 6, and the launch/expansion of several branches of programming including some with national reach.
