About Greenwich House
Founded in 1902 as a settlement house to help New York’s increasing immigrant population adjust to life in a new country, Greenwich House today offers a variety of programs and approaches that continue to provide thousands of New Yorkers with health and wellness supports, education and personal enrichment, and skills building and cultural experiences. Greenwich House launched the Workforce Training and Resource Center in Fall 2022, which is a programming, support, and activity hub for partnerships that bring a broader array of services to the West Side. The Center focuses on curating skills training and services for adults and older adults and builds opportunities for meaningful intergenerational engagements.
Position Summary
The Director of Workforce Services will be responsible for the ongoing implementation of the Lifelong Skills and Opportunity Center (LSOC), and new workforce program in the West Village with a special focus on aging and older adults, while striving to support many other targeted populations. The Director will contribute to and build from strategy and planning work that has been underway. The individual is responsible for growing growth of the programs, in terms of both client participation and program offerings and support.
Additionally, the role will advance research and learning, promotion and communications, and continuous improvement activities that support LSOC work and partnerships. This includes but is not limited to customized training for business and industry, nonprofit and government sectors; professional/career training and adult education.
Key areas of focus will include: creating linkages and partnerships with organizations currently offering robust, evidence-based skills training and work readiness programming; building and strengthening connections across Greenwich House departments to leverage existing expertise and programming; providing administrative oversight of the Workforce and Training Center; coordinating data sharing and reporting amongst partners; and contributing to fundraising and resource development efforts to support and grow the Center. A strong candidate has successfully led workforce development initiatives and/or creative and dynamic adult/immigrant/behavioral health development programs.
