    Digital Literacy Instructor will teach adult learners essential technology skills for daily life, education, and employment. This role focuses on helping students gain confidence in using computers, the internet, and digital tools while enhancing their English proficiency. If you are passionate about teaching computer skills to diverse learners with varying learning styles, using appropriate materials and instructional strategies in both face-to-face and remote settings, please apply!

    The candidate should have the following:

    • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree required
    • Prior computer literacy teaching experience
    • Appropriate Adult Basic Education licensure or TESOL certification preferred
    • English language fluency required; ability to speak a language in addition to English preferred
    • Demonstrated experience integrating technology into the teaching and learning processes, including providing blended, online, and distance learning opportunities for students; ability to design and/or utilize in-person, blended or online learning models
    • Experience in computer literacy instruction, including familiarity with Northstar Digital Literacy assessments
    • Experience in providing student-centered instruction to non-traditional students from diverse educational and ethnic backgrounds; ability to adapt teaching style and materials to meet the individual needs of students
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong time management and organizational skills
    • Resiliency and adaptability; ability to use critical feedback to improve and strive for excellence
    • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and team-teach, if necessary

    The Candidate will be responsible for:

    • Designing and implementing digital literacy lessons tailored for ESL learners, teaching fundamental computer skills such as typing, internet navigation, and file organization
    • Guiding students in email communication, online safety, and cybersecurity best practices while providing hands-on instruction in commonly used software like Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
    • Incorporating the NorthStar Digital Literacy Curriculum into the syllabus and prepare and proctor the test
    • Supporting learners in job applications, resume writing, and online job searches, using interactive teaching methods that integrate language development with digital skills
    • Offering both individualized and group instruction to accommodate diverse proficiency levels, monitoring student progress, assessing learning outcomes, and providing constructive feedback
    • Collaborating with colleagues and community organizations to enhance learning opportunities and ensure student success.
    • Being in charge of data collection, the maintenance of the Education Department SharePoint page, and the creation of the Digital Literacy class calendar
